NEW VIDEO : Wednesday, 7 February 2024.
Eastern & Oriental Express Train No. 31dn, ESSENCE OF MALAYSIA JOURNEY : Woodlands - Alor Setar - Butterworth - Ipoh - Woodlands, making a tech stop at Kuala Lumpur Railway Station on its way back to Singapore from Butterworth.

This is the 1st E&O revenue trip after 4 years in ‘hibernation’ due to Covid-19 pandemic. The last revenue trip was on 6 March 2020 (Singapore to Bangkok).

Train 1031 ‘Mock-up’ Eastern & Oriental Express traveling back to Plentong, Johor from Tumpat, Kelantan, the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia via the ‘Jungle Railway’ route from seen here passing through Kemubu Railway Station.

Note : You can hear local boys commenting in a ’Kelantan dialect’ as they are all excited to see the E&O train passing through their hometown.

Train 1030 ‘Mock-up’ Eastern & Oriental Express arrived at Dabong Station on Saturday night at 2255 hrs. A bonus for train enthusiasts in 20 years time to see the E&O train stopping at Dabong.

Train 1030 ‘Mock-up’ Eastern & Oriental Express captured during its arrival at Merapoh Station for a short ‘rehearsal’. Merapoh is known as a ‘point of entry’ to Sungai Relau, Taman Negara and it is one of the places of interest offered by E&O in its ‘Wild Malaysia’ packages in 2024.

Train 1030 ‘Mock-up’ Eastern & Oriental Express arrived at Dabong Station on Saturday night at 2255 hrs. A bonus for train enthusiasts in 20 years time to see the E&O train stopped at Dabong.

I wish that E&O will resume it service to Bangkok soonest possible.

The E&O service in Malaysia is expected to be resumed in February 2024.
