I have campaigned a lot over the past several weeks and now election time is upon us.
Early voting starts tomorrow and continues Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Historic Court House on the square. Election Day is Tuesday, May 17th with polls opening at 6:00 am - 6:00 pm. On Election Day voting locations will be your choice between the Historic Court House on the square, the AG building at the community park or Simpson Elementary on Witt Rd.
There are several very important races in this primary election, maybe none more important than the County Clerk race. I want to commend all the Clerk Candidates for running a good clean race. As I have been out on my campaign journey, many citizens have asked me about all the ones running. I've told all of them there are several good people running for County Clerk. However, I do feel as though my background, knowledge and experience sets me apart. I have 25 years experience in public safety, 15 of those years in local government operations in various capacities. For the last 8 years my local government involvement has been as an employee of the Simpson County Sheriff's Office. In my job duties there, I manage millions of your property tax dollars and fees for service. I am also responsible for getting the budget for the Sheriff's Office prepared and presented to Fiscal Court. I know a lot of the inner workings of a local government office, including state required reporting and disbursements, presentations of fee budget and tax settlements, as well as working with state auditors.
In years past, our Clerk's Office has been overseen by outstanding individuals who kept a smooth-running office, and it is my goal to work hard and see to it that the office continues to be successful, support an awesome staff, and provide you and all of Simpson County the best customer service experience when visiting the Clerk's Office.
I would greatly appreciate your vote to be your Simpson County Clerk.

It was a beautiful evening at The Arling last night where the Republican Party hosted the Lincoln Day Dinner. I had the privilege of meeting and speaking to several people in attendance and listening to our Congressman, State Representative and several others.

Hi everyone! Looks like we are set to get some potentially bad weather soon. I will be sending Matt around to cut down large signs so they don't break and hurt someone or damage someone's property. I will put them back out this weekend. Thank you for your support! Y'all stay safe!

“The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are bold as a lion.” -Proverbs 28:1

Working at the Sheriff’s Office I see first hand what law enforcement handle. Being married to a law enforcement officer I see they are never truly off duty. It is a job that only a brave select few can do. It’s hard, it’s scary, it’s tiring, it’s frustrating, it’s fun at times but it’s rewarding. So thank you to my husband, Matt Freeman, and to all the brothers and sisters in blue!

This should be everyday…..

I have learned that a memo was sent this week to all Kentucky PVA’s and County Clerks regarding value increases on motor vehicles for 2022. As mentioned in the memo the increase is due to increased new vehicle production and transaction costs, rising values and limited supply on used vehicles as well as dealer interest increases on used vehicles. As of January 1, 2022, the database was updated. There is an approximate 40% valuation increase as compared to this time last year. Contact Your PVA, Alison Smith Cummings, to see if an adjustment can be made if your vehicle has high mileage. If your vehicle has physical damage that has not been repaired, get an estimate of repair for that damage and contact her office to see if an adjustment can be made. She will do what she can to help. This affects all of us and we just want you to be aware of steps that may ease this process for you.

As always, stay safe and God bless you all!
