Have you heard...? Mermaids are returning to Mystic Aquarium! Encounter an aquatic wonder like never before! Seeing a real mermaid can be a dream come true for many children (and adults)! For two long weekends at the end of September, discover the magic of mermaids as they swirl through the waters of our Caribbean Reef habitat.*
We encourage all our visitors to embrace the underwater adventure and dress in your favorite aquatic-themed costume – from mermaids to pirates to sea animals and anything else you can dream up. The brighter, the better – bright colors will draw the attention of the diving mermaids for a more interactive experience.

Our coral reefs are the vibrant heart of our oceans, housing an astonishing array of marine life and serving as vital ecosystems. However, in recent years, they have been facing an unprecedented threat: coral reef bleaching. 😢💔
Coral reef bleaching occurs when the delicate balance between corals and the microscopic algae they depend on is disrupted. Factors such as rising sea temperatures due to climate change, pollution, and human activity have all contributed to this devastating phenomenon. As a result, the coral expels the algae, losing its color and leaving behind a stark, ghostly white appearance.
You can be an Ocean Guardian for our reefs just like the mermaids! Be mindful of your actions everyday. Choose reusable! Take that reusable cup to Starbucks for your coffee instead of using plastic. Support coral projects like The Coral Reef Conservation Project and 🔱
