Summer is now in full swing, and I’m absolutely soaking up these slower days filled with sunshine and warmth. Well, maybe not so much the Maryland humidity—that part I could do without! I’m excited to share that I have a new mixed media painting available for purchase, inspired by peonies. There’s something so timeless and romantic about these flowers, don’t you think?

For me, summer will be for sunshine and play (with my kids, traveling locally and reading) biz growth (with courses I’m taking, I’m feeling the pull to grow in new and bigger ways) and of course, creating new art! 🪴

Some of the materials I’m using to create my latest mixed media collection. As a mixed media artist, I love ALL THE THINGS! Who else can relate??

From glass paints to oil pastels to watercolors and more. For this floral collection? I’ve narrowed my materials down to colored pencils and oil pastels. I’m really loving the vibrancy I can achieve with both.

The eclipse today was exciting! In Maryland, we experienced about 90% totality. My oldest daughter had a fantastic time discovering and witnessing her first eclipse. 🌙

I also squeezed a little creative time and have begun working on a new illustration👩🏻‍🎨 Should I keep all the hydrangeas blue or mix in some purple??
