Thank you to the 5000+ voters who showed up and voted based on logic.
I am proud of the campaign I ran, the friends I've made, and the team that supported me. I didn't have huge political aspirations going into this campaign. All I've ever wanted to be was an MDJ in order to help my community.
Moving forward, I will continue to advocate for and uphold the law, serve my community and work hard so that the voices of everyone are heard.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Today, we leave it all on the field.
A lifetime of service has lead me to today.
As the daughter of a CWA union worker and a Philadelphia police officer, working for the greater good has always been one of my core values.
From my days as a Girl Scout, to volunteering at Woodhaven Center in my youth, I learned the value of community service at a young age. My first jobs were service oriented. Through high school I was a lifeguard at local pools and the JCC Kline Branch in Northeast Philadelphia. In college and law school I was a server in various restaurants. There is no better place to learn humility, customer relations and service than in a restaurant.
In college I participated in many community service projects through my sorority, Theta Tau Omega, where we often earned philanthropy awards.
When I chose the profession of law for my career, it was because I wanted to help people.
As a mother, and engaged member of the Upper Moreland community, I service as the President of the Upper Moreland Free Public Library Board of Trustees, Vice Chair of the Upper Moreland Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education, I'm a Judge of Elections and I sit on the vacancy committee of the Upper Moreland board of Commissioners. I'm an active member of the Upper Moreland Equity Alliance and an active volunteer with all of the activities my children are involved in. If Zack is in a show, or Molly is on the softball field, you'll find me helping backstage or in the little league snack stand.
None of the hours I've given, or work that I do are for prestige or recognition. I do the work that needs to be done because that's who I am and it's how I can make my community a better place. I'm setting an example for my children to give back to the community that gives you so much.
Prior to law school, I worked in the mental health field as a resource coordinator. Although it was only for a year, the skills I learned in that job, have continued to shape who I am and how I conduct myself.
When listening to people's problems, my mind is already working on how I can help. What resources do I know of? Who can I put them in contact with? What information can I provide to help make things better?
As your next Magisterial District Judge, I'll bring with me, not only a wealth of legal experience, to assist me in unbiasedly and honestly deciding cases, but a lifetime of service, dedication and resource coordination aimed at improving the lives of others and helping our community.
On Tuesday, November 7th, vote for the competent, qualified, capable, compassionate candidate. Vote for me, Melissa Osborne for Magisterial District Judge.
🗳
👩⚖️⚖️
Since announcing my candidacy for Magisterial District Judge on November 22nd, 2022, I have worked my hardest to present to voters a clear, factual, positive message.
You've heard about my background and qualifications.
You've heard about my experience, both as an attorney and as a dedicated member of our community.
You've heard about my vision for the court and how my legal expertise will help me to run an efficient, reliable court, centered around accessibility, equity, resource coordination and the law.
You've heard from those supporting me and their reasons for doing so.
My campaign has followed the Judicial Canon requirements of a judicial candidate.
My campaign finances are transparent. Every dollar donated to my campaign PAC has been because family, friends, attorneys, organized labor and elected officials believe in my ability to win THIS race and hold THIS judicial position.
None of my campaign funds have been paid to slander my opponent. My campaign has not paid a non-profit organization to make children political billboards without considering their parents' views or beliefs.
The information on my mailers was drafted with quality and positivity in mind, while sharing with you, the voters, how and why I'm the best candidate for Magisterial District Judge. They weren't full of political double speak, gaslighting, or misinformation.
I am proud of the standards I've held myself to throughout this campaign as I do in my daily life. Even opposing views at the doors have been met with a smile and intelligent conversation, or a "Have a nice day!" I've never yelled at or belittled a voter and homeowner on their own property, or anywhere for that matter. I have always exemplified the judicial temperament required for this position.
I have faith in the voters of Upper Moreland, Lower Moreland and Bryn Athyn that they will see through the conjecture, fear mongering and political buzz words, and consider the facts as presented to them when making an informed decision.
Tomorrow, November 7th, 2023, VOTE for the Magisterial District Judge our community needs.

I've done a lot of canvassing over the years, but it hits different when you're canvassing for your own campaign. I've enjoyed every moment of speaking to voters, expressing my reasons for wanting to be elected as Magisterial District Judge, and sharing my vision for how I'll capably and competently run my court.
I would be remiss not to thank the committee people and volunteers who helped share my message. As a full-time attorney, every evening and weekend available was spent meeting you at your doors.
I hope that the impressions and connections I've made, drive you to ignore the noise and false claims, and know that your vote for the most qualified candidate will be heard.
As the sun sets on this Election Cycle, I'd especially like to thank you for sharing your encouragement, enthusiasm and assurance of your vote with me, and recognizing that:

One of the "perks" of being a Magisterial District Judge, is sometimes being asked to officiate weddings!
As a Minister of the Universal Life Church for over five years, I have had the honor of officiating five weddings, three for family members and two by request.
There's nothing quite like being a part of legally recognizing the love that two people share with one another and helping to solidify that commitment.
I am ready to serve in all aspects of the duties of Magisterial District Judge.

There are growing concerns across the Commonwealth regarding the current Magisterial District Court system. Chief among them being cost, efficiency and qualifications.
As our next District Judge, my legal experience will assure decisions based on the law, facts and circumstances of each individual case, not baseless rulings because of personal favors, relationships and back room dealings often employed by politicians.
My full-time commitment to our community will save taxpayer money that is otherwise wasted on erroneous rulings, that propel cases into and endless and costly appeals process.
My colleagues in law and law enforcement know that quality rulings effectuate the most efficient process for all parties involved.
One November 7th, vote for the qualified candidate for Magisterial District Judge.🗳

Sunday Night's celebration of Montgomery County Commissioner, Ken Lawrence was an incredible event.
As this Election cycle pushes towards the finish line, I found myself incredibly grateful to be surrounded by old and new friends all coming together to work hard for the greater good.
As in demand as Commissioner Lawrence was, he took a few minutes to check in with me and asked about my campaign, and echo his support. I was able to congratulate him on receiving the lifetime achievement award and he shared that it was important to him to not feel as though he was overstaying this position. His humility with all that he's helped accomplish is a excellent example for any public servant.
The values of those in this room are a reflection of what can be achieved when the purpose of running for an elected position is truly to help others, uphold democracy and the law and stand up for justice for all.

As an attorney for almost two decades, I am always working to improve and expand my knowledge of the law. Knowledge is power.
This summer I took the time to complete the process of being admitted to the bar of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
The people that come to my Magisterial District Court can be confident that I am well equipped to guide them on proper procedures, venue and other aspects of their case that might not be evident on the surface.
(Side note- not once in this process or any other legal proceeding I've ever been involved in, was I asked my political party.)
I've never witnessed a judge ask anyone their political party. I've never asked a client or opposing party their political affiliation. There are no politics in a court room. The law is what matters in court. The only people that think there are politics in a courtroom are the politicians that put them there.
