Several TLG staff members attended the 35th Annual Virginia Rural Water Association Conference held last week at the Hotel Roanoke. Along with sponsoring a booth and prizes, Matthew Lane was also one of this year’s presenters. Matthew presented the Southwest Virginia Comprehensive Regional Wastewater Study, a recently completed study that evaluated all of the wastewater needs of the Cumberland Plateau, LENOWISCO, and Mount Rogers Planning Districts. The Study was funded by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and will be a valuable tool for addressing wastewater needs throughout Southwest Virginia for years to come.
On Thursday, April 11th, The Lane Group (TLG) hosted Lunch and Learn Series No. 10. The series was titled Virginia Department of Health - Lead Service Line Program Overview and Q/A with guest speakers David Dawson, PhD, PE, Lisa Crabtree and Sean Mitchell with VDH.
Approximately 40 participants received a comprehensive overview of the recently required Lead Service Line (LSL) inventory. The topic of this series helped to educate water system owners and operators of the LSL inventory requirements and necessary documentation needed to meet the requirements of the Lead and Copper Rule Revision issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Participants received two hours of continuing education credits. TLG would like to thank everyone for attending.

Today the bridge was set for Phase 5 of the Greenbelt Walking Trail in Big Stone Gap. The multi-use bridge is 170 ft. long and weighs approximately 130,000 pounds. This is an important step to connect the Greenbelt to the Powell River Trail in neighboring Appalachia.
The Lane Group was honored to serve as the Grand Marshall of the Town of Appalachia’s Christmas parade last Saturday. It was a cool and rainy evening, but the rain didn’t dampen the Christmas spirit of TLG’s elves. 🎅🏻🎄
Thank you to the Town for this opportunity and for trusting TLG for all of your engineering and architectural service needs!
