It's so beautiful when you step out of survival mode and start living life abundantly ❤️
The last few months my motto has been:
JOY, VIBRANCY, and PEACE
2023 has been a year of releasing and healing.
If a situation, environment, or person reduces my joy, causes me to dull my shine, or costs me peace, you better believe I'm working on an escape plan, because I'm not sticking around.
Removing the validation of others has allowed me to feel more confident in stepping out into the world as me - the real me - no longer hiding behind a fake smile.
We get one life to live.
Step out of the shadows and shine your inner light on this world!! ❤️
This year’s growth is just the beginning. It’s time for more in 2024 and I’m stepping into the new year with BIG ENERGY!!

Merry Christmas!!! May you have a wonderful day full of joy and making memories with your loved ones!
Another day of dancing for us today!
I've been backstage for rehearsals and the last 2 shows. So I've seen all the beautiful costumes but I've steered clear of watching any of the rehearsal so I can experience all the magic today when I watch the evening performance!
I am so proud of this kid!!!
We never dreamed she would fall in love with ballet like she did. It's not just something she does - it's her passion ❤️
It's show day! So of course we are WILD!!
Come out and see this silly girl as a dragon and butterfly in tonight's show or 2 shows tomorrow!
This Monday; THE Monday of Thanksgiving week 2016, was the day that changed everything moving forward.
I remember having the conversation with my new coach and her telling me it might be best to wait til after Thanksgiving to get started. You see, I had just received my DVD set of at-home workouts and I was READY!! She didn't really know how impatient I can be. Now that we are best friends she would think something was wrong with me if I didn't show up with that impatient energy 🤣
I went all in that particular Monday!
I was 100% committed to taking control of my health. I was so tired of being so damn tired. I was tired of feeling so stressed I couldn't relax without a glass (or two) of wine after work. I was exhausted beyond measure from lack of sleep as I reviewed my entire day's work at night when my mind felt like it could finally catch up for the day. Never mind the fact I lived (mentally) at work even when I was physically home and was never present with my kids. To this day I still resent how I lost those first 2 years of the twins' lives to a never ceasing nag of anxiety and overall burnout.
That particular Monday I had been given a few tools to help me take control of what was within my control.
3 weeks later I was hooked! You couldn't convince me to stop because I felt LIFE for the first time in a looonnnggg time.
This Monday is always my reminder to recommit, reconnect, and refocus! I don't wait to set goals for the next year on January 1. This is always my day to intentionally look at where I am, where I want to go, and see where shifts need to take place.
It literally begins by making ONE decision to say YES to YOU! Sure, I could have waited til the Monday following the holiday but I'm not sure I would have appreciated the journey as much if I had.
I learned that week that taking care of your health isn't a on or off switch. You don't have "on the wagon, off the wagon" moments. You don't follow strict only "good foods" and never "bad foods" diet rules. Instead it's a lifestyle - a commitment to FEELING great and continually doing the things day in and day out that keep your energy high and your spirits lifted even more!
So on this Monday, like I have every year since 2016, I commit to becoming the best version of me! She's an incredible mom and wife!! She doesn't allow poor sleeping habits, lack of stress relief, poor nutrition habits, lack of mobility, negative mindset, or lack of energy keep her from fulfilling her most important jobs!
When its Disney day and your flight is soooo delayed you likely aren't getting any sleep.
I'm bringing that Disney energy this morning!!!
40 minutes to hotel.
Gotta be in Hollywood Studios for light sabers at 8:15am.
Good thing kids are getting in a little cat-nap in the car!
Last night, after all the chaos of getting school completed, packing up our equipment, grabbing a bite of dinnnr, getting to the campground, and getting camp set up prior to our meet-up time; I had a moment to just sit and take it all in. I had a moment to breathe.
It was our first camping excursion outside of the backyard, and without Dad. I had felt the tension all day as we got closer and closer to time to leave. Worrying I would forget something important, that I would need assistance while Dad was at work, or that one of the kids would panic in the middle of the night being out in an open campground.
But in those few minutes I got to relax. I was watching the twins run around; giggling and playing and loving life. As I was admiring the sunset a little whisper of the wind said "release."
So many things flooded my mind in that moment. Like how for a week I've been fighting a terrible bout of TMJ flare up that's impacted sleeping, eating, talking - you name it - it's been a problem with a locked down jaw. I realized I'm holding on to so much tension in my body.
Release.
I needed that moment where I was open - sitting with nature, and giving God a moment that I was actually still and open to listening.
He reminded me last night to release the tension and trust Him.
I am so thankful for these little moments. It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day grind and miss His presence but my kids always place me right in the opportunities to be reminded of His greatness.
Wonder how many batches of salsa I get from today's haul?? 🤔
It seems almost double from last time.
Time to wash, skin, and measure!
What's something you wish you had always learned?
I always dreamed of learning ballet - dancing across stage full of grace and fluttering like a feather.
If you know me, you know I'm more of a clumsy, uncoordinated woman. But I believe you can learn anything!
It's time to add more core strength, overall balance and coordination, and grace to this girl's routine!!

This is life in a small town ❤️
We absolutely love to travel, explore new places, eat allllll the food, and experience life in different areas. We are those odd travelers that prefer the "local" hangouts because we want to really experience everyday life when we travel instead of hitting the usual sights.
Maybe its because it makes us feel like we are at home.
But at the end of the day, this is home ❤️These are just a few of the fun adventures we had right here in our own little town.
❤️
Have you ever noticed that there seems to be a revival lately? Maybe it’s just me because I follow so many encouraging accounts, but I’m seeing a revival of women in long dresses, baking homemade bread, with large Christian families gathered around the kitchen table learning.
Houses are being filled with thrifted goods and antiques. Farmhouses are all the rage with big wrap around porches, perfect for summer evenings with a cold drink and kids playing at your feet. I’m seeing gardens full and baskets with eggs. We’re even seeing increasing rates in homeschoolers!
If you ask me, many people are beginning to realize that the simple ways of the past were the good ole’ days and what’s newer isn’t always better.
Families are craving wholesome learning, real food, more time together around the table and a hunger for the true, the good and the beautiful. I believe that there is a change happening in the dynamics of the family unit, a change that goes back to tradition. But unless you’re looking for it, the world won’t show it. The world wants us to believe we need bigger and better; and that we can unravel the family unit. The world wants us trapped in the hustle culture so we can obtain more and more.
I’m here to tell you that it’s okay to want to be simple. It’s okay to romanticize your life and wear all the long dresses and can all of the tomatoes. It’s okay to not give your kids cell phones and to not even have a television. It’s okay to put the Lord first in a world that wants nothing more than to hide Him. It’s okay if breaking glass ceilings isn’t your style (but it’s also okay if it is).
I encourage you to embrace your role in the home. Put on your best dress, read to your children, bake the bread and water the plants. Create a culture within your home that doesn’t have to match the world if you don’t want it to. Steward your children in faith and teach them skills and scripture that they can use and pass for generations to come - someone’s got to keep it going! It starts with us. ❤️
Does the chaos of summer have you...
Struggling to do your normal daily tasks?
Feeling restless?
Having a hard time remembering things?
Struggling to make decisions?
Feeling fuzzy or foggy?
Lacking energy?
Making careless mistakes?
Missing meetings or appointments?
Forgetting to do important things?
Losing things a lot more often?
These are all things that happen when we lose focus and struggle to concentrate! And you can probably guess that it is not good for our mental, emotional or physical health.
If you are saying “yes, that’s me!” -- it’s time to get focused.
🔎 I can help!
I’d love to know, how are you struggling most with focus and concentration right now? 👇
I forgot how much I love creating meals 😍
This week has been a great reminder to embrace the little things daily.
What's something you stepped away from during the pandemic that you've realized you missed?
We went to the Abingdon Farmers Market this evening looking for Shish*to peppers for our salmon and panzanella dinner and to our surprise they started the Healthy Kid's Bucks again this year!
The twins LOVE this summer program because they think it's better not having to share all these delicious veggies with anyone else since they get to select their very own!
Aiden tried all the micogreens and decided he will be adding a new variety weekly from now on. We also got a kit with various seeds to expand our own microgeen garden here at home.
Aria stuck with her usual - cucumbers, tomatoes, and carrots today but will be on the lookout for some fruits next visit.
Anyone else get tired of these two questions:
- what's for dinner?
- what do you want for dinner?
Simple solution!
We have 4 people in our home.
Everyone picked 7 dinners.
I quickly planned them out based on work/sport activities vs prep/cook time and voila! We have a months worth of meals planned in less than 20 minutes!
We will be doing this monthly from now on!!!
No more questions about what's for dinner 🙌
Book the trip.
Sometimes taking a step back from the hustle and bustle is the easiest way to see the bigger picture and gain clarity on the most important aspects of life.
So what the timing isn't great 🤷♀️
Your soul needs it!
We completely unplugged for the week, explored all San Antonio had to offer, and met up with my amazing teammates a couple days for lifelong memories!
Timing for us seriously couldn't have been any worse as our family is about to embark on a new chapter. But my soul needed this. The kids needed their parents to take a step back, rest, and release some stess. Zack needed the break too (even if he often doesn't admit such things) before the new adventures begin.
We are refreshed, rejuvenated, and refocused.
We all came home with a new energy and vibrancy.
So book the trip, the unplanned weekend getaway, the last minute family adventure! I bet you find more life in that trip than you could have ever imagined possible ❤️
When you find yourself at a crossroad, do you choose the smooth path or forage your own way???
If I'm being honest, I've been at this crossroad for awhile. We got the absolute best advice today from .erin.king
No longer will I be a perm-mullet.
Shew. This one got me.
I fell in love with his writing so long ago because the became such a special place to me as my husband and I vacationed there yearly so many years ago. In the beginning we would make a day trip to but I really began to understand the uniqueness of the island and fell head over heels in love with the island when we started staying on the island for the week instead of just visiting for the day.
Ocracoke Island became our vacation spot yearly after our twins were born. Every visit makes it harder and harder to return to Virginia because I dream of making Ocracoke my home for years.
It's definitely a destination you should visit at least once in your lifetime!
So this one got me.
It's a wonderful read but have your tissues close by! This one definitely tugs the heartstrings.
I can't decide if it's insanity or not since I'm not looking for a different outcome 🤔
But every day, I take the baskets down and give them a good soak, then carry 2-4 buckets of water to the fountain (depending on how much evaporated the day before), then hang the baskets up again and store the buckets. Just to return and do it all over again the next day 🤣
I ❤️❤️❤️ love my front porch. It's an entire vibe!! I ❤️ sitting at my little bistro table and listening to the fountain and watching birds visit.
What do you do every day that seems silly but brings joy to your life??
These mile walks are giving me a moment to slow down, reflect on the day, calm my mind, and prepare for night.
I do this challenge every June. Today I really questioned why I stop. Usually I continue til the end of fall and the onset of winter. Then I forget all about it until June again when the challenge starts back. Maybe I'll set off to complete some miles per day on the bike during winter to keep the challenge alive this year!
Today's mile came with deep reflection on life. It's therapeutic!
When you drive, do you focus on the view in front of you or the view you have from your rear view mirror? 🤔
Think about that the next time you are allowing your past to hold you back from your potential.
Too often we allow our rear view mirror of life control our destination.
If you wanna dig deeper into how to shift that perspective, stay turned for my next round of where we will learn how to break free from all the mental blocks keeping you stuck on your goals.
Day 1 complete!
One kiddo and ALL the animals joined in for today's mile 🤣 The cats definitely cracked me up!
First day and last day of 2nd grade.
I can't get over how much they've grown this year 😭😭😭
We've tackled 1 million words read, a spelling bee, a football season, and 2 ballet recitals. It's been a year for the books!
Now it's time for a summer filled with fun and memories!! And we kicked it off today with a neighborhood party!
I'm just curious...
- do you have home workout DVDs collecting dust on a shelf?
- do you have a book you never started?
- do you have workout equipment just collecting dust?
Whether you’ve lost motivation or you’re just feeling ‘eh’. sometimes all you need is a reset.
Here’s how you can do it:
A reset is exactly what it sounds like: starting over.
That means redefining your goals, making plans, and sticking to them.
1️⃣ Think about what you want to accomplish in your health and fitness journey. Rather than pick a general plan to become fitter and healthier, set a more specific intention. The more specific, the easier it will be to keep track of your progress and stick to your goals.
I personally love asking myself WHY I care about chasing that goal - what is achieving said goal going to GIVE back to my life??
2️⃣ Next, think about what obstacles you may face in the process of getting back on track. Do you have vacation coming up, birthday parties, holiday parties? Do you think these events will derail your progress?
Can I give you a little secret - those little moments create LIFE!
Celebrate in those moments then come back and focus with even more passion and determination. Celebrating life gives us reason to want to live healthier so we can experience even MORE life and joy!
3️⃣ Finally, set milestones! If you want to stick to something, you need to be able to identify the steps you should take and keep track of your progress. A great way to stick to your plan is by choosing a nutrition or workout program to follow each day.
What helps you to reset and get back on track?

project
I'm so excited for the beginning stages of our newest project.
I may never own a farm and completely feed my family from my own lands but I can definitely build on our original foundation.
This year we decided to build out our raised bed garden and expand into an in-ground garden. The fence is soon to come down and be expanded as well.
We started our seeds 6 weeks ago and the weather *we think* is finally gonna stay warm enough to plant the seedlings.
The kids have begged for years for us to add watermelon, cantaloupe, and pumpkins and now we have the space to do so!!! And for the first time we will be able to grow corn and potatoes.
Raised beds are now strawberries, asparagus, squash and zucchini, herbs, lettuce, kale, and spinach.
We are looking forward to a variety of berries and produce from the garden, watermelon on warm summer days, and salsa!!
(If anyone local is looking for a raspberry bush, I need to dig up some plants that seeded from last year - hit me up)
All the long hours and endless rehearsals have us at recital day!!!
I'm so proud of this kid and her dedication to her dance! If you would have told me I would have a kid that loves the stage I wouldn't have believed it possible but she has a confidence that just shines.
Holding patterns don't really serve us do they?!?!
We *think* ....
- when I finally get through this week...
- when this class is finally over...
- when I graduate...
- when I get a new job...
- when the kids get out of school for summer...
We think waiting for the best time will make chasing dreams easier. But I'm here to tell you, all it does is place you in a holding pattern and that hold stalls your future blessings and joy.
There's never going to be an opportune time to show up and do something for you because perfect timing just doesn't exist. Life doesn't have a pause button. Instead we figure out how to grasp opportunity when it arises and create the time right now!
I've been living a holding pattern for a long time. I kept telling myself the opportune time is eventually going to present itself to shift my focus. But after living this holding pattern for the last 4 months I've realized this myself - I have to create the opportunity but just stepping out in faith.
I am shifting professional gears in the aspect that I'm not *just* a pharmacist in the pharmacy and I'm not *just* a fitness coach online - I AM both at the same time, always.
I'm shifting gears on how we approach this community.
I wanna hear from you! Because serving you is my main goal -
So, what are things you want to learn about your health?
What are some health results you would like to see in your future?
What would allow you to feel more in control of your own health and wellness?
2020: The Long Summer
Just as the sunflowers turn their faces towards the sunlight and dance in the summer breeze; we too soaked in the sun’s warmth. This was a time to enjoy the sunshine, wrap ourselves in the summer warmth, and reconnect with nature.
This season brought great joy and peace as we were granted a moment to step back from the hustle; awaken from our sleep-walking state; and actually be present for the first time without distractions.
We were granted a moment to reconnect to the simplest of things in life that bring joy - coffee on the front porch, gardening, reading books, playing games in the yard, talking walks around the neighborhood, saying hey to your neighbor - all the things we never have time for in our busy lives.
It was a beautiful season.
But just as seasons do, change came and fall was upon us: 2021
The change of season brought about the shedding of leaves from the trees and the shedding of routines in our lives. Boundaries didn’t seem to exist anymore as work, school, and home were all meshed together into a big blob with no set time frames for any of it.
Routine didn’t exist anymore. While some change was so needed, we also managed to shed our better habits too. Self-care became something of the past.
There was a heaviness and uneasiness to this season as we asked ourselves how do we even move forward from here?
2022: The Hibernation of Winter
Just as some animals hibernate in the winter; most plants go into a dormant state to conserve energy. Plants focus on conserving energy by pulling nutrients back into the roots instead of focusing those energy sources on maintaining leaves or blooms.
This time, the season brought healing. Much like the flowers, we focused on inner growth instead of the outward beauty of flowering. This season brought reflection, rest, and restoration by focusing on inner health and growth.
Now it’s time for the Blooming Season: 2023
We’ve weathered the season changes and have come full circle back to the blooming season. It’s time to allow all that inner growth to be reflected as our blooms take shape. Soon we will be in full bloom and our outer beauty will be a reflection of our seasons of healing and restoration.
We’ve had time to discover what we can and cannot survive; what environmental changes needed to take place to thrive, and now what parts of life we will carry into the future and which shall be left in the dead of winter.
As we make the transition into yet another season I invite you to take a journey with me. Over the next 6 weeks I will be mentoring a group of women from seed to bloom!
Together we will discover your specific Flourish blueprint! Just as flowers have specific requirements to flourish - sunlight, water, soil, temperatures, nutrients - you too have a specific formula that allows you to flourish! Together we will discover exactly what that looks like for you.
I’m hosting a free introduction training this Sunday! All are welcome to join and find out more about the process.
