Had a delightful time with my friends from Traffic Police reading “Road Safety with Kay and Bear” to our little ones at PCF Sparkletots!
This wonderful story follows Kay and Bear as they safely make their way to a friend’s birthday, teaching important road safety lessons along the way.
A big thanks to TP and the Singapore Road Safety Council for creating this educational programme to instill safe habits in our young children. Let’s keep our roads safe for everyone! 🚦👶📚

It’s heartening to see everyone come together to support our less fortunate households with essential groceries, right at their doorsteps. A big thank you to Hao Ren Hao Shi, OTS International, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and our dedicated Bukit Batok GROs for making this possible. Your commitment truly makes a difference.

Every year, we set aside a month to appreciate public transport workers for all they do to keep our daily commutes safe and smooth!
I joined commuters to convey our appreciation and encouragement to our public transport workers at and Bus Interchange. I am heartened to see the outpouring of heartfelt messages for our bus captains, technicians and service staff.
I was also pleased to meet Ms Nor Harienti, Mr Kishon Chong and Ms Cheryl Tan who are customer service staff from Go-Ahead Singapore and Tower Transit Singapore. Our operators' dedication to a diverse hiring culture fosters a more inclusive environment, providing a platform where the abilities of employees of all abilities are valued and embraced.
Join us in celebrating out PT workers this month by greeting and thanking our service staff and bus captains or at the train stations too!

So nice to meet 5 year old Grace (seen in the photo with her mum). She wrote such a heartfelt note to me too. Thank you so much, Grace. You brightened up my day!

In my capacity as adviser to Singapore Hockey Federation, delighted to note that both our women’s and men’s over 40 hockey teams did phenomenally well at the World Masters Hockey World Cup 2024 held in Capetown, South Africa just last month. Both of them secured a credible 8th place!
Our women beat the fancied teams from Germany and host country, South Africa. Our men beat Malaysia in the 1st round!!! This is no easy feat. Heartiest congratulations to the team players, coaches, managers, sponsors and everyone who helped in one way or another.
As our Malay friends would say, they displayed ‘Semangat’! What great ambassadors for active ageing and healthier living!

Singapore and Vietnam signed the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters on 28 October 2024.
Our countries share a strong commitment in combatting crime. The treaty facilitates cooperation in criminal matters between two countries, and covers assistance such as obtaining evidence, identifying and locating persons, and search and seizure.
Vietnam’s Prosecutor-General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy H.E. Nguyen Huy Tien and I also exchanged views on several topics. We look forward to stronger relations between our countries.

Really delighted to open the Temenggong Deepavali Heritage Exhibition earlier in the week. This exhibition is a collaboration between NUS and Temenggong.
On display are beautiful Hindu artifacts which are centuries old from the South East Asia region all the way to Tibet.
Such a pleasure to meet our NUS student researchers who did an admirable job in explaining the historical significance of the artifacts.

Wishing a radiant Deepavali to all who celebrate! May this Festival of Lights brighten your homes with peace, joy, and prosperity. Enjoy the festivities with your loved ones and light up the world with hope and happiness. Happy Deepavali! 🪔✨

We are celebrating Deepavali tomorrow but celebrations have already started last week with a distribution of groceries and essentials to our less fortunate families. We also hosted them to a sumptuous makan at the same place. A big thank you to Raja and team for organising!

The Legal Aid Bureau (LAB), which turns 66 this year, has an important mission of enhancing access to justice for vulnerable Singaporeans.
Throughout the years, the LAB has not only helped many applicants but also transformed the way it works. For example, moving from using typewriters and paper files to becoming the first “law firm” in going completely paperless by adopting an electronic case management system. Today, the LAB even offers in-house tools on its website to better serve its applicants in this digital age.
In addition, the LAB provides legal advice through video conferencing at a number of community centres, Family Service Centres and Social Service Offices across Singapore, making the service more accessible to everyone.
Congratulations to the LAB on your anniversary. A big thank you to the LAB staff, volunteer lawyers, community partners and Assigned Solicitors, for your unwavering dedication to .

So good to meet Ng Kai Jun, 18. He shared that he is taking a Diploma in Digital and Smart Facilities Management with the BCA Academy, which is the training arm of the Building and Construction Authority.
He is currently in his 2nd year and is enjoying his internship with Knight Frank. He is confident of securing a job after he completes his diploma and finishes his NS. Indeed, our education system has transformed so well.
There are many pathways to achieving success! All the best, Kai Jun!
Just had a spooktacular time at Skypeak Halloween 2024! Thank you to Cheryl, Jeremy, Koh, Alex, Jennifer, and all our dedicated volunteers for creating such a thrilling haunted mansion and laser maze experience. It was great to see everyone in high spirits, enjoying the spooky fun.
Our Zone 12 team always astonishes us with their creative and spooky Halloween celebrations! Your hard work brought smiles to many!

Am at Blk 620 Bukit Batok Central for the quarterly SG Clean Day with our community leaders. Will be ‘live’ shortly!

I am at Blk 114 with Mr Tey, a visually handicapped person whom I assisted to get a space to do blind massage services. Will share his story shortly via FB live.

I had the opportunity recently to engage the JC1 students from Eunoia Junior College on Singapore’s approach to governance and the rule of law, through a case study on drugs and the death penalty, as part of MOE’s General Paper External Agencies Outreach Programme.
The discussion was thought-provoking, and I was heartened by the students’ knowledge and enthusiasm about important issues which affect Singapore.
