This phrase is from Coco Chanel and inside it I find all my thoughts.
Every woman has her own opinion on what is beautiful and what is not but there are basic rules that say whether you are dressed well or not.
We often think that flaunting brands or logos is elegant, instead it is tacky. Or that wearing a lot of accessories or jewelry makes us look classy, instead is vulgar.
Then there are those that don't even match colors. They think that if something is in fashion, it is fine and so they buy it. And they wear it ...
In the business world, women have to pay a lot of attention to the rules of dress. In place where there is a particular dress code, a man will always be dressed in an elegant suit, while the woman will show off a riot of clothes, perhaps very elegant, but which will not convey what a suit conveys: competence, seriousness and professionalism.
This aspect is very evident in job interviews. With the same skills, between a male and female candidate, the tendency is to hire the first one even without a dress code to follow. It is a wrong cultural heritage but it still works like this. The first thing to do therefore is to show up for interviews with a suit that communicates all our seriousness even before we speak, so that our interlocutor starts with an already positive basic idea in evaluating our candidacy.

Questa frase è di Coco Chanel e dentro ci trovo tutto il mio pensiero.
Ogni donna ha una propria opinione su cosa è bello e cosa non lo è ma ci sono delle regole base che dicono se sei vestita bene o no.
Spesso pensiamo che ostentare marchi o loghi sia elegante, invece è pacchiano. Oppure che indossare molti accessori o gioielli ci faccia sembrare di classe invece è volgare.
Poi ci sono quelle che non abbinano nemmeno i colori. Pensano che se una cosa è di moda va bene e quindi la comprano. E la indossano...
Nel mondo del business le donne devono prestare moltissima attenzione alle regole dell'abbigliamento. In ambienti in cui vige un dress code particolare, un uomo sarà sempre vestito con un completo elegante, mentre la donna sfoggerà un tripudio di abiti, magari molto eleganti, ma che non trasmetteranno ciò che trasmette un completo: competenza, serietà e professionalità.
Questo aspetto è molto evidente nei colloqui. A parità di competenze, tra un candidato uomo e uno donna, la tendenza è di assumere il primo anche senza un dress code da seguire. E' un retaggio culturale sbagliato ma funziona ancora così. La prima cosa da fare quindi è presentarsi ai colloqui con un abito che comunichi tutta la nostra serietà prima ancora che noi parliamo, cosi che il nostro interlocutore parta con un' idea di base già positiva nel valutare la nostra candidatura.
Quello che faccio è proprio questo: creo il tuo stile per comunicare chi sei con i tuoi outfit e avere successo.

Years ago I interviewed for an administrative position in a company. I should have been an accountant, a clerk. No prominent position. I was 26 and living together. I was told by my future boss that I was perfect for the position and that he would hire me but for the job he would have to ask the consultant why "you are at risk of pregnancy". is not THE monster. It is the patriarchal and macho system in which we have lived for centuries that leads us to think so. A woman can easily run a business and raise happy children if the system gives her the chance (perhaps by making things like company nurseries, smartworking, etc. become normal). She can also go in Space!
I don't like to gossip about those who do the same job as me but this is something that touches me particularly as a mother and entrepreneur. We have to get out of this mentality, we have to raise children free from these false dogmas.

Anni fa feci un colloquio per una posizione amministrativa in un'azienda. Avrei dovuto fare la ragioniera, l'impiegata. Nessuna posizione di rilievo.
Avevo 26 anni e convivevo.
Mi è stato detto dal mio futuro capo che ero perfetta per la posizione e che mi avrebbe assunta ma per l'inquadramento avrebbe dovuto chiedere al consulente perché "lei è proprio a rischio gravidanza".
Non è IL mostro. È il sistema patriarcale e maschilista in cui da secoli viviamo che ci porta a pensare così.
Una donna può tranquillamente dirigere un'impresa e crescere figli felici se il sistema gliene desse la possibilità (magari facendo diventare normali cose come nidi aziendali, smartworking ecc). Può anche andare nello spazio!
Non amo sparlare di chi fa il mio stesso lavoro ma questa è una cosa che mi tocca particolarmente in quanto mamma e imprenditrice.
Dobbiamo uscire da questa mentalità, dobbiamo crescere figli liberi da questi falsi dogma.

Di recente, al festival della canzone italiana , si sono viste molte artiste vestite con splendidi creati per loro da stilisti famosi. Sono abiti da sogno e tutte noi le abbiamo invidiate.
Tuttavia vorrei soffermarmi su un punto fondamentale per chi fa il mio lavoro: non sono abiti su misura.
Vorrei essere chiara: sono abiti meravigliosi e ad un occhio profano sembreranno perfetti, tuttavia ad un occhio allenato si mostrano quei piccoli particolari che fanno capire che l'abito è stato adattato alla dell'artista una volta finito e non fatto su misura fin dall'inizio. È un po' come quando andiamo in una boutique e compriamo un abito che magari è proprio della nostra taglia ma è stato creato per donne più alte (Il contrario non capita mai!) e quindi dovete farvelo sistemare perché tutto il corpino è almeno 5 cm più in basso di quello che deve coprire!
Nella foto ad esempio è evidente come la fascia obliqua dovesse essere più in alto per non fare quelle due sacchette sui fianchi.
Se l'abito fosse stato fatto su misura il problema non ci sarebbe stato.
Per riprendere il concetto di di cui parlavo ieri, ciascuna di noi è unica anche nella sua fisicità e un abito in non ci vestirà mai bene perché non è cucito su di noi.
Smettiamola di voler entrare nei panni degli altri.

Pine green georgette inspiration.

Imbolc was celebrated in the Celtic world from 1 to 2 February.
It is the first festival of the year and is dedicated to the goddess Brigit.

The goddess Brigid was the protector of poetry, animals and blacksmiths, but by extension she was the protector of those who create: life, objects, emotions ... I therefore like to think that she protects me too and that she inspires me.

E' la prima festa dell'anno ed è dedicata alla dea Brigit.

I was inspired by this when I thought of this red wool Bouclé dress fully lined in satin. The golden detail on the belt, in the shape of spirals, recalls the ancient concept of regeneration that was celebrated by the ancients in these days.

Romantico Natale

Ho sempre avuto il debole per le commedie romantiche di Natale, quelle in cui la ragazza sola trova il principe azzurro che la invita a una splendida festa dove c'è un albero di Natale gigante e mille decorazioni e gli abiti sono da favola.
Mi sono ispirata a questo quando ho pensato a questo abito in Bouclet di lana rosso completamente foderato in raso. Il dettaglio dorato alla cintura a forma di spirali richiama l'antico concetto di rigenerazione che proprio in questi giorni veniva celebrato dagli antichi.
Che sia un anno di rinascita per tutti noi.

A few days ago I was reflecting on the great success that certain magazines of ready-made patterns have.

If I sew the dress myself, I don't even consider the time it takes for work because the satisfaction of making your own wardrobe is priceless.

Un abito fatto a mano non è economico.

L’altro giorno riflettevo sul grande successo che hanno certe riviste di cartamodelli pronti.
Per un tubino semplice, tra l’acquisto della rivista, della stoffa e di tutti gli accessori come cerniere, bottoni, passamaneria varia e fodera, ti costa, solo di materiali, diverse decine di euro (in Europa).

Se mi cucio l’abito da sola, non considero nemmeno il tempo impiegato per il lavoro perché la soddisfazione di farsi da se tutto il guardaroba non ha prezzo.
Il discorso cambia se lo fai di mestiere. In questo caso il tempo impiegato conta e il costo dell’abito aumenta ancora di più.

Eppure c’è un sacco di gente che preferisce un abito fatto a mano, fosse anche solo un prendisole, piuttosto che uno acquistato da una catena di fast fashion.

Questo perché un abito fatto a mano ha qualcosa che quelli delle catene non hanno: l’unicità.
Nessun altro in giro per il mondo avrà un abito uguale al nostro e questo ci rende unici.

Il mio motto è che ogni donna è unica e merita di essere valorizzata per quello che è.
Nessuna donna si deve sentire inadeguata perché non rientra nei canoni che la moda impone.

Siate uniche, fatevi un regalo: un abito fatto a mano.
Fosse anche un prendisole!
