When I draw, I draw the gaps that need filling in, a bit like a paint by numbers.
They're certainly not pretty sketches like I see other artists draw 🤣

I know I said I'd give you Work In Progress posts about my Star Wars Last Supper painting, but I've been so busy with commissions and the exhibition that I've been taking photos and then forgetting to post them 🤯🔫
Anyway, this where I'm at so far.
A couple of days drying and then I'll start adding all the details and final glazes.
This one will definitely be ready to release on 4th May ❤️

Here the first Work in Progress shot of my Star Wars Last Supper ❤️

It's 15 days till May the 4th.
I've got some commissions and an ever nearing exhibition to work on, but I like to challenge myself. I'm also conscious of the fact that I can't post much of what I'm working on at the moment because it's all exhibition work and I don't want to show you everything before the night.
With that in mind, today I finished drawing a STAR WARS LAST SUPPER.
In the next 15 days, between commissions, I'm going to try and complete it ready for sale on May the 4th and keep you updated with lots of Work in Progress posts 😀

I've been fighting off walking pneumonia for the last 7 days but I'd booked in to paint this rainbow in a local schools nurture room today.
Feeling much better and back to painting again ❤️

Here's a quick update on the Work in Progress female musician Last Supper.

Making a start on my all female music icons Last Supper.
This one is going on a smaller canvas (40x32") so it's going to be lots of fine detail work.

This painting will feature Dolly Parton, Debbie Harry, Stevie Nicks, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Karen Carpenter, Billie Holiday, Madonna, Amy Winehouse, Siouxsie Sioux, Cher and Aretha Franklin.

I'm going to be timing how long this one takes and making a little video of the process.

As it was International Women's Day yesterday, and here at Greater Than we're all for smashing the patriarchy 😜

Finally finished (I think 😋)
It's a terrible photo taken in terrible light on a dodgy phone camera, so you'll have to come to the exhibition to see it properly 😀
Oils on a stretched deep edged 40x60" canvas.

This will hang in my studio to dry for a month before I have it photographed for prints, then oil it out and varnish it.

I can't wait for you to see it properly so you can see all the little details in it up close ❤️

On the 30th January I started drawing my version of The Last Supper. Today will be the day I finish painting it.
It's taken over 150 hrs to paint but I'm really happy with how it's turned out 😁
A few hours of details to go and I'll be putting my brushes down ❤️

*UPDATE: I put my brush down at 11.55pm 🤣

I didn't paint a thing over the weekend, but I did visit the Shrine of Our Lady Walsingham to have a look at the art work and get some ideas and inspiration for my exhibition ❤️

I've got a few paintings in their final stages, so keep an eye on the page for when they drop ❤️

Finally got all the canvas covered 🤣
I'm putting it to one side (working round it would be more accurate) to do some more portraits for a few days, just to give my eyes something new to look at.
Still to go:
Details on tapestries, detail work on everybody, finish faces and outfits, put food and drink on the table, detail the tablecloth, repaint feet in final position (these are just place holders) and finally add shadows and highlights to the whole painting. Then dry and varnish.

Probably another 80 to 100 hours to go, but it's starting to all come together ❤️

Here's a quick work in progress post for those following along.
Painted in the lines and depth of the background in greys and then put a coat of greens and browns over the top.
I'll soften all the lines and add depth and shadows over the next few weeks.
Next part is the table and feet, before I go back and finish the characters and pull the whole thing together.
I'm aiming for the end of Feb to have it finished so it can dry before varnishing.
I've lost count of the number of hours I've spent on it so far 🤣

I thought I'd share another work in progress shot.
This is actually the angle I'm painting them as I've got the canvas on its side.
Still lots of details to go into them as I'm just painting them as placeholders to get their positions right at the moment.
Just for reference, each person is about the size of a hand ❤️

Still lots of detail to add to them, but they're taking shape.

Finally finished drawing all the people on my Last Supper today and even managed to get some paint onto it.
I'm not gonna share a photo yet because I'm working on small sections and will share when each part is done.
I'm loving it and can't wait to show you ❤️

Yesterday I started drawing my version of Leonardo De Vinicis 'The Last Supper' on a 5ft wide canvas.
I'll be replacing Jesus and the apostles with rock stars to fit my new exhibition.
Today I started replacing the people with slightly more detailed drawings and making final decisions on who should be on there.
I've stuck to what I see of the original painting of 12 men and one woman.
I've drawn 8 so far with each one taking about an hour. I'm aiming to get the final 5 finished tonight so I can start painting tomorrow ❤️

I'll be releasing the dates for the False Idols exhibition on the weekend 😋

Spending the day working on one of the larger pieces for my exhibition later in the year.
That means I'm priming a 5ftx4ft white canvas white and then sanding it down and priming it white again three times 🤯🔫
I have decided on a date or should I say dates for my new exhibition...I'll release them as soon as I've spoken to the venue ❤️
