These pyramids are part of the Nubian pyramids, also known as the Meroë Pyramids. They are located in Sudan, along the east bank of the Nile River, near a group of villages called Bagrawiyah.

The pyramids were built by the Kush*te kingdom, which ruled much of the region between the 8th century BC and the 4th century AD. The pyramids served as tombs for kings and queens, as well as other members of the Kush*te royal family and important officials.

The Meroë pyramids are much smaller than the Egyptian pyramids, with the tallest one reaching only about 100 feet in height. However, they are still impressive structures, and they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Here are some additional facts about the pyramids of Sudan:

The pyramids were built of granite and sandstone. The pyramids were built between 2,700 and 2,300 years ago.
The pyramids have decorative elements that reflect the influence of Pharaonic Egypt, Greece, and Rome.

There are over 200 pyramids in Sudan, but many are much smaller than the ones pictured. These are found scattered across five different sites. The largest concentration is at Meroë, with about 100 pyramids.

Due to political unrest and sanctions, Sudan receives far fewer tourists than it once did, and the pyramids are not as widely visited as the more famous Egyptian pyramids.
